'What an excellent day: memorable events (going on an aeroplane- Concorde; learning from an older person), learning about World War 2 for our current topic, mostly blue skies and exemplary behaviour. Superb....

Independent research- finding out about World War 2

Having completed a more guided piece of work, we have been investigating our own questions about World War 2, trying to use at least two sources of information to support our facts and presenting our work clearly. Here are a few examples...

Then we went around the classroom to read one another's findings and give feedback about the information and how it was presented...

Some great independent work and thoughtful comments. Fabulous work from Kestrels...

Improvising in drama- Friend or Foe

Will David and Tucky inform Mr Reynolds that they have found two German pilots on the moor near the farm?

We have acted out the scene, with narrators, experimenting with what the characters may say, do and feel as they talk about their dilemma...

The children really enjoyed the experience. Next they will commit their ideas to paper, writing a play script of the scene.
